This design features colourful kniphofia flowers, commonly known as torch lilies or burning pokers (of African origin but named after the German horticulturist Johan Hieronymous Kniphof). They are recorded as having been hand-painted and pasted onto a pre-hung wall covering in a late 18th-century Upper Brook Street house as a custom decoration. To replicate a natural scene behind the pokers, Little Greene adapted a motif from their Stag Toile paper. This wallpaper is one of our mural designs. Supplied on a standard 10m roll, there are three strips, each 3.25m high. The pokers repeat each strip, but the full backdrop is only completed when all three drops are hung.
