The inspiration for this pattern is a wallpaper from the 1955 book Contemporary Designs. Originally a very 'busy' paper, much of the background was removed to give more presence to the floral motifs and their beautiful simplicity. The colours are drawn from archival documentation of the time, as well as an elegant and simplified interpretation in black and white.
