One of the earliest block printing designs, the original paper once adorned the walls of a ground floor room, probably a dining room, in a historic house in Salisbury, Wiltshire. Its simple graphic elements are typical of a design that would have been cut from wood and applied by hand using a hanging block press. Although the application of the various printing colours required the dedication and precision of a master craftsman, wallpaper as decoration at that time was reserved for the privileged few and as such, expensive and extravagant designs were in greater demand than cheaper alternatives. Available in four colours.
